We pray because we want God to listen to us. We want our prayers to make a difference. Who we are can hinder our prayers or make them powerful and effective. Here’s what God says:
When you pray, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him.

If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.

Ask the Lord to show you any sin in your heart that would hinder your prayer. He loves you enough to tell you. And to forgive you and make you clean. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 5:16
