He fell facedown, crying out, “Ah, Sovereign Lord! Are you going to destroy the entire remnant of Israel?”
The Lord said, “Their sin is very great; the land is full of bloodshed and the city is full of injustice (from Ezekiel 9:8-9).”
Later Ezekiel fell facedown again, crying out, “Ah, Sovereign Lord! Will you completely destroy the remnant of Israel?”
This time the Lord said, “I will gather you from the nations and bring you back. I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them. They will be my people and I will be their God (from Ezekiel 11:13-20).”
A question that begs the issue can be a powerful prayer.
