I ordered a package, to be shipped via UPS. A few days later, a UPS man rang my doorbell. I opened the door, took the package, and said thank you. He left and both of us were satisfied. He had done his job and I had my package.
Sometimes I treat Jesus like He’s a UPS man.
I pray for something, and when He delivers it, I open the door a crack, take His gift and say thank you. When He turns and walks away, there’s an ache in His heart. He’s not just a UPS man. He wanted to visit for a while. I’m his daughter. He loves me. And I, at day’s end, though grateful for my gift, feel empty and alone.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me (Revelation 3:20).
Great word picture, thanks!
