We’re remodeling our kitchen. We emptied it – of everything – so we can fill it with the new.
My heart needs remodeling too.* I need to be emptied of sin and self so I can be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).
First I pray, “Cleanse me from my hidden faults. Keep me from deliberate sins. May my words and meditations please you, O Lord (from Psalm 19:13-14).
Then I pray, “Strengthen me with power through your Spirit so Christ can make his home in my heart (Ephesians 3:16-17).”
