She told the Lord she wanted to hear from her family.
Her brother heard a still small voice, “Call your sister.”

I was on my back porch, reading Jeremiah 18 when I heard chimes from the bell tower of a local church play a familiar hymn. I stopped reading to listen, to remember the words:
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou are the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.
If you had been with me that morning, you would have noticed, just like I did, that the message of the song and the message of Jeremiah 18 are the same:
The jar the potter was making did not turn out as he had hoped,
so he crushed it into a lump of clay and started over. . .
The Lord gave this message:
As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so you are in my hand.
(from Jeremiah 18:1-6).
One message from two sources helped me hear.
Don’t say “God said this” to give authority to your own ideas (from Jeremiah 23:36).
You should keep asking each other, ‘What is the Lord’s answer?’ or “What is the Lord saying (Jeremiah 23:35)?
