Those who learn to trust God when love shines bright

Also trust God when day seems as dark as night.

Give thanks to God that we can trust and pray in the night and in the day.

Snapdragons, like the ones my grandfather grew.
I watched my grandpa pray. As I watched, I learned.
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6).
There were children at the Wailing Wall, being trained by their elders.
May we who know Jesus as Messiah teach “the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders he has done (Psalm 78:4)” by praying for and with our children.
I like to start my days with Bible reading and prayer, so when my grandchildren visit I invite them to join me. One morning Talia (she’s three) and I read how Jesus calmed the storm after the disciples cried out to him in fear (read the story in Matthew 8:23-27).
I asked Talia, “What do you do when you’re afraid?”
Without hesitation, she answered, “I pray to Jesus.”
They were playing with play mobile people when Grandpa took a toy dinosaur and said, “A dinosaur is coming!”
Emma immediately prayed, “God, please keep us safe. The dinosaur is coming.”
A child who prays as she plays is learning the habit of prayer.
*Thank you, Amy and Jonathan, for teaching your daughters to pray.
