We Pray to a God Knows Us

We often relate to people based on externals, because we can’t see their souls. For example, when Job was successful he was treated like a king, but when he lost everything, he became a laughingstock to his friends (Job 12:4; 29:25).

When we relate to God through prayer it’s helpful to remember that “God searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought” (1 Chronicles 28:9).

Our Generous God

Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.
(Psalm 91:14-16, bold mine to highlight what God does)

We do so little. God does so much.
