In the morning, the people were silent when challenged to follow God. But in the evening, they fell face down, and cried out, “The Lord—he is God!”
During that day they had watched the prophets of Baal frantically pray, to no avail. But then they saw Elijah walk to the altar and pray, “Prove today that you are God.” God answered his prayer and the people believed (from 1 Kings 18:19-39).
Prayer shows who God is.
