Eternal Life

IMG_2080This sign stops cars. Covid-19 stops people. As you’re stopped, pause and consider:

Just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people  (Hebrews 9:27-28).

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16 bold mine).

You can pray, believing.

Eugene Peterson’s Final Prayer

“Eugene Peterson has died and is now with the Triune God he has loved his entire life. Family says Message author joyfully looked toward heaven as he neared death, saying, ‘Let’s go.'”*

Eternal Life

On May 16, 2017,  a beloved friend passed into eternity. We miss her. A lot.

Yet we know she is with the Lord.

How can we be so certain?
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13).

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal live (John 3:16).

Why You Should Pray in Secret

Jesus said: Go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you (Matthew 6:6).

Elijah did just that. He saw the child lying dead on his bed. So he went in and shut the door behind the two of them and prayed to the Lord (2 Kings 4:32-33).

Death became life because of secret prayer!
