We ask.
God answers.
We thank Him.
We tell others.
God is praised!

The Lord Answered Them
Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel also was among those who called on his name. They called to the Lord, and he answered them (Psalm 99:6).
The Lord will answer you!
Why Pray?
Question: Who is the Almighty that we should serve him? And what profit do we get if we pray to him? (Job 21:15)
Answer: O Lord, answer me, that this people may know that you, O Lord, are God (1 Kings 18:37).
People who pray get to know God. (He is very great!)
Ask.
The Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream and said, “Ask what I shall give you” (1 Kings 3:5).
The Lord makes the same offer to us. “Ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it” (John 14:14).
As I Wait
My role is to pray.
God’s role is to answer.
He knows.
HIs plan is perfect.
I’m learning trust.
If you ask God for a quarter . . .
I arrived at the food store and realized I had no coins or cash. That was a problem because I needed a quarter to be able to use a shopping cart.
I asked the Lord for a quarter.
I walked across the parking lot looking for a quarter on the ground. I walked into the store, and then to the ladies room.
I kept asking the Lord for a quarter.
I thought through my options. I could ask the security guard for a quarter, but this is a city and people are always begging. I could ask a cashier, but there were long lines of people waiting to buy food.
I kept asking, Lord, what should I do? I need a quarter.
I walked over to the shopping carts, and there was a cart, sitting, alone, not connected to the others. I didn’t need a quarter to use it. Someone had left it there for me.
The Lord didn’t give me a quarter. He gave me what I needed–a shopping cart.
Your Father knows what you need before you ask him (Matthew 6:8).
Call on His Name
A light rain fell as we rode along the bike path. A racing bike shot past and hit a slick spot; instantly bike and rider were sprawled across the path in front of me.
I braked, hit that same slick spot, and lost control, and fell to the ground, shouting, “God!!” I am a little bruised and sore, but no bones are broken (see Psalm 34:20).
If you pray while life is peaceful, you will instinctively call on God in a crisis.
God Will Answer
Hear my prayer, O Lord;
Listen to my cry for mercy.
In the day of my trouble
I will call to you.
For you will answer me.
Psalm 86:6-7
One answered prayer led to another
She had just read this post, Before we asked, God answered, when she realized her key was missing.
She thought, “God knows where it is. I’ll ask Him to tell me.” So she prayed, then thought about where it might be. Her key was in the very first place she looked.
Talking about God’s answers inspires prayer.
