When Planning for Your Future

Consider how or if your plan will help you, “to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul (Joshua 22:5-6).

And don’t forget to pray. God knows the plans he has for you, to give you a future with hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

God Knows

The Lord told Joshua, “You are growing old and much land remains to be conquered. . . . I myself will drive these people out of the land ahead of the Israelites. So be sure to give this land to Israel as a special possession (Joshua 13:1-6).”

The God to whom we pray knows who we are and what we can do. He does all the rest.

How One Who Knows Prays

God knows our hearts. He searches them (from Luke 16:15; Romans 8:27).

Here’s what He sees: “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure (Jeremiah 17:9).”

It’s no surprise that “the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express (Romans 8:26).”
