Divine Sovereignty and Human Responsibility

More than forty-four thousand capable warriors, all skilled in combat and armed with shields, swords and bows, fought against their enemies. They cried out to God during the battle and he answered their prayer because they trusted in him (from 1 Chronicles 5:18-20).

God is completely in charge, but what we do matters.*

Pray, believing.

God’s in Charge

She pleaded with her husband, saying, “Give me children, or I’ll die.”

He responded,”Am I God? He’s the one who has kept you from having children.”

Later we’re told, “God answered her prayers by enabling her to have children (from Genesis 30:1-22).”

Talk with the Lord about your desires, your longings, your needs. He’s the one who can and will do something about them.
