We pray to the Sovereign Lord. “I send rain on one town and withhold it from another,” says the Lord. He draws up water from the oceans and pours it down as rain on the land (from Amos 4:7; 9:6).
We can pray about everything, even the weather, because God controls it.
More than forty-four thousand capable warriors, all skilled in combat and armed with shields, swords and bows, fought against their enemies. They cried out to God during the battle and he answered their prayer because they trusted in him (from 1 Chronicles 5:18-20).
God is completely in charge, but what we do matters.*
