Pray about Everything

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6).

“‘In everything’ — not simply when our house is on fire or when our beloved spouse and children are gravely ill, but even in the smallest matters of life. We are to take everything to God — little things, very little things, even what the world calls trivial. Yes, we are to take everything, living all day long in holy fellowship with our heavenly Father and precious Lord Jesus.”*

Prayer in 2017

As 2017 begins, we pray knowing that when it ends, we’ll look back, knowing God heard every prayer.

That’s why we pray with thanksgiving.

 

 

 

Don’t worry, pray

I began my prayer time saying, “I’m not sure what to do, Lord.”

Then I read that day’s Scripture verse.* It read, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers (Philippians 4:6 TLB).”

Everything? Everything.

With God everything is possible (Matthew 19:26).

That’s why we pray about everything (Philippians 4:6).

On Prayer and Peace

Oh what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.*

In everything make your requests known to God in prayer and petition with thanksgiving. Then the peace of God . . . will guard your hearts (Philippians 4:6,7 NEB).
