Awesome is God — he is the one who gives power and strength to his people (Psalm 68:35).
Pray for power and strength in weakness.

I have often thought about what my greatest surprise will be when I go home to be with the Lord. After much pondering, I have concluded that it will be the tremendous power and peace that was available to me this side of heaven—and how infrequently I used it.*

Do you want to make a difference in the world?
“The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working (James 5:16).”
The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4).
Unseen the Lord enters and wields his love-drenched power in answer to our prayer.
They knew Daniel. So to get rid of him, they outlawed prayer. He continued kneeling on his knees, three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God. as he had been doing previously (Daniel 6:10).”
But they didn’t know how powerful prayer is and they didn’t know how powerful God is. “God delivers and rescues and performs signs and wonders in heaven and on earth (Daniel 6:27).”
Ask Him to do impossible things. Then you and those watching will know the Lord.
When Elijah prayed a dead boy was made alive, a water-drenched altar burned, and a cloudless sky produced rain (from 1 Kings 17-18).
Paul pleaded in prayer. The Lord answered, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).”
May God’s denials of our prayers perfect His power in us.
Peter was in prison, fastened with two chains, between two soldiers. An angel came. His chains fell off. Peter and the angel passed two guard posts. When they came to the iron gate, it opened all by itself (see Acts 12:6-17).
God did this.
But his friends did their part: While Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him. . . many were gathered for prayer (Acts 12:5,12).
No matter how hopeless a situation may appear, God gives us power in prayer to do something about it. We may be overwhelmed, but God is not. We may not see a way out, but God can. Because of Him we can make a difference.*

We were without electricity for 29 hours. Our lights would not, could not, shine.
Life without God, without prayer, is like that.
Apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:5).
