How to Teach Children to Pray

They were playing with play mobile people when Grandpa took a toy dinosaur and said, “A dinosaur is coming!”
Emma immediately prayed, “God, please keep us safe. The dinosaur is coming.”

A child who prays as she plays is learning the habit of prayer.

Wondering What to Pray

The family gathered for bedtime prayers. When it was my five year old niece’s turn to pray, she hesitated. Her mom prompted, “Just say thank you.”

So she did. She prayed, “Thank you, God,  for . . . and then she named each person in the room.”
