I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all your wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High (Psalm 9:1-2).
Thankful, praise-filled prayers bring joy.

I can do all things through him who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord (1 Timothy 1:12).
Give God credit and thanks for what he does.
Paul prayed, “We ought always to give thanks to God for you because God chose you to be saved (from 2 Thessalonians 2:13).”
How often do you thank God for saving others? And for saving you?
Life on earth is hard.*
But soon the Lord will remove from His Kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. . . .Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father’s Kingdom (Matthew 13:41-43).
With thankful praise we anticipate our coming joy.
*Our life is fine, but many suffer.
I was visiting family friends. Their three year old daughter prayed before our meal.
I can’t remember her exact words, but this was the form of her prayer: “Thank you for this. Thank you for that. Thank you for the other thing. Thank you for the food. Amen.”
We can pray like she did. Begin every sentence of your prayer with thanks.
Simple expressions of gratitude bring joy. I’m still smiling because of this note: You have given me so much. Thank you. I am honored to be called your son.
Bring God joy.
